Jackie Gilbert ‘La Piazza Piece’, ‘Reflections’ & ‘Sunlight on Water I & II’
Lead and fused glass.
£146
My inspiration for this “Impact of Light” came from the idea of sunlight penetrating the colours in a rose window.
If it looks like a pizza dissected by Italian breadsticks then it only serves to make the religious connection stronger. My original intention was external beauty rather than internal digestion, but I hope that whatever the viewer sees, they will bring their own insight to the piece.
Silkscreen printed glass, lead and enamel.

Inspired by a project called metamorphosis, I have used the idea of leaves floating on a frozen river, the autumn leaf colours and the spring green of the curtains to convey the theme of metamorphosis.

In these two small panels I have tried to create the idea of sunlight on water. I thought this would be an easy project but now I’m not so sure.
