Sarah Davis ‘Faces with a Story’
Painted & leaded glass panels.
£350 each
If I were a tidy person I’d have files of ideas, neatly catalogued and waiting to be used. Instead, when enthusiasm strikes I follow a theme compulsively until it has been interpreted in glass. I love the varied colours and textures of glass; it’s unpredictability; and the way that it looks different every time the weather changes.
Faces with a Story was inspired by articles about two people, an African nomad and an Indian poet/farmer, whose life experiences are carved into their faces. The light illuminates their facial features, but particularly the eyes, which tell a story of their own.
