Sarah Ward ‘Summer Breeze’

Glass – Leaded, copper foiled, slumped and enamelled.

£375

For most of us, windows are a main source of light. My idea for this piece came from wanting to turn something that looked like an ordinary window into a piece of art. I also wanted the viewer to be able to imagine what lies through the window and to make it reminiscent of a positive experience……… catching a warm breeze from an open window whilst drinking juice from a glass. The net curtain just took me back to my childhood!

My favourite artists are Patrick Caulfield, Roy Lichtenstein and Chuck Close, and I also look to modern architecture and sculpture for ideas.
