Sue Walsh ‘Large Hadron Collider’ and ‘Skulls’

 Large Hadron Collider

Fused glass, enamel, wire and lead

£285

Intrigued by how colour and light provide a massive impact on everyday life, where it has the ability to influence mood and emotion in people and in places, I felt a natural gravitation to learn techniques of stained glass and about the beauty it has to offer.

I was inspired by “Impact of Light” to choose for my exhibition piece a creation of the Large Hadron Collider in glass. The original LHC was built to accelerate particles faster than light, which like stained glass throughout history has the potential to open up new dimensions…… or not!

Skulls

Fused glass     £120 (pair)

Damien Hirst’s diamond encrusted skull (“For the Love of God”) led me to wonder if something similar could be done with fused glass. These two pieces are my take on the original, nothing like it of course, more “Flower Power” than”Diamonds are Skull’s Best Friend”.
